I'm not a natural born gusher. I rarely fawn, slobber, or otherwise turn into a flaming fangirl over anyone. However, I do occasionally post a curse or two on Facebook on an authors page because they've kept me up late, reading their latest novel, making me bleary-eyed and foggy in the morning.

In fact, with few exceptions, I don't post what I'm reading. Partially, it's because I'm exceptionally lazy, and have a hard time figuring out sites like Goodreads and That Library Thing. But everything comes to a screeching halt when one particular author releases a new novel.

Melissa Mayhue is my Kryptonite. Her rawr! heroes and sassy heroines suck me in, and my people can expect that I will be unavailable for anything other than wine and popcorn until I've ripped through her latest from cover to cover. In fact, they are cautioned not to interrupt me unless their hair is on fire.

So it is my greatest pleasure to post this review of Melissa's latest novel. WARRIOR REBORN:

I freakin' LOVED it.

From start to finish the novel takes you on a rollicking time travel ride, one which Ms Mayhew has perfected with her previous Daughters of the Glen series. (Go order her back list: you will not be sorry.) Chase Nobel, our hero, is seeking the destiny promised to him by his Fae father, with the reward of finding his SoulMate, and Christiana MacDowlt , our heroine, possesses the ability to see future events through visions, is always trying to thwart her evil half-brother Torquil.

Melissa Mayhew's character driven stories never fail to pull you into the action, and her writer's voice carries you along until the end.

I have read and reread her books. The characters are so well developed, they are like friends I go and visit. There is romance and scifi/time travel. Even the secondary characters are fleshed out and show up in other stories. You want to know what happens to them as well. Highly recommend her books!!!
Come and take this journey! It’s exciting! It’s unpredictable! For a book filled with Christiana’s ability to see the future, this read offers plenty of suspense. A bit of violence- a trigger for some- and romance of course.
Highlander romance with every possible element thrown in - time travel, paranormal, shifter, witch, elf, etc etc, spoiler alert, did I mention incest? Maybe I just wasn't in the mood, I found it hard to plow through although I did finish it, probably because I liked one of the secondary characters and wanted to see what happened to him (see next book for the rest of the story). I would not say it has a cliffhanger so much as after a whole novel about the developing romance between hero and heroine it becomes an afterthought near the end and the story moves on with lots of dangling plot lines remaining. I doubt I will read another by this author.
I have from the very start loved Mallisa's books about the "Fae" & the way that each carector she writes about is affected by their magic & how all of her books all tie into each other. Infact it's a good idea to research her books so you can get them in the correct order. It makes the read & expeareance of her books even better. Because of course you start to understand how sertian caractors tie into each other. I'm really looking forward to her next one, 'Warrior's Redemption. It's funny sometimes when your find an on going store more threw books & you start to wish that the 'Fae' really existed & would pick you up & drop you into the place where you feel you belong. Sometime I think that I belong back there rather then here. But maybe that comes from how good these books pull you into there stories. You start to fell like you just might be able to believe that "could this really happen?" I guess this also shows you just how my own imagination tends to wander. Have a great read, cuz all her books to me, about the "Fae" are fantastic. There also very addictive. D
When Chase Noble was young his father promised him that someday he would meet his fate. Being the obediant son that he was, he believed. Of course it didn't hurt that his father was fae and fully understood the meaning of what it meant to have a soul mate. For years, Chase has wandered the earth preparing for his fate, for that moment when fate stepped in and took over. Of course he never thought it would mean traveling to the 12th century in nothing but his boxers. *grins*

Christina MacDowlt has spent her entire life slave to the visions. Her destiny has been to travel paths of what if and what could be for what seems to be an eternity. Always trying to circumvent her brother's evil plans. Since she can not lie she has found ways to tell her truth. A lifetime of planning seems to be at risk when Destiny and fate meet head first.

Watching Chase and Christina sizzle their way through this book was a joy to behold. As usual Melissa's characters are rich and sensual enriched by the lush background of the highlands. A decadent delight, a sensual escape.. spending time with Ms Mayhue's wonderful characters is always a pleasure and as usual she doesn't disappoint.

Aside from her fantastic storyline she sets us up for the next book in this particular arc of the Daughters series.. One all but falls in love with the secondary characters. Of course there are questions that must be asked.. Like who and what some of them are.. *grins* What is their purpose and how do they really fit in the story? I can't wait to see how Melissa tells each story.

My only regret was a lack of interaction with some of our favorite characters. Chase has two sisters, one in present day Colorado and One in 12th century Scotland. It would have been nice to see a reunion. I was most certainly expecting one.. *sigh* but that's me, I have a need for all the t's to be dotted and i's crossed.

Make sure you fit this book into your schedule.. Melissa's Daughters of the Glen is a spectacular series and should skip right to the top of your TBR..
